Solitude is Bliss/Blow Your Mind

I'm behind.  Maybe the blog will start fizzling into nothing- but here I am anyway.

Two songs today- one for sunday the 14th and the other for Sunday the 21st.  Two good songs- my brain is on a roll getting some good music on this blog, I just wish I felt excited about posting about it.

Anyway, here's the song from the 14th, "Solitude is Bliss" which is by one of my favorite new (to me) bands, Australia's Tame Impala.

This was the first single of their debut album, "Innerspeaker," from 2010.  Listen!!!

Alright, so the next song will be the earworm from Sunday the 21st.  This is Jamiroquai, a group which has grown on me more and more over the years.  I just love their sound.

The particular song is called "Blow Your Mind," it's also from their debut album, Emergency on Planet Earth (1993)  Blow Your Mind was the third single released from this album.  It's a good one, albeit maybe a little long.  LISTEN!!!

A hug.

Half The Man

Yo Yo Yo.  It's cold here in Utah and I'm already sick of the snow.  Also potty training a new puppy in cold weather is literally the poops.

Oh, and guess what? (you're gonna be totally shocked by this.)  I'm about to blog about a song that was stuck in my head!  Yeah!  Seriously.

Today it was Jamiroquai.  My mother-in-law asked me the other day how to pronounce it.  I didn't know.  Kwai?  or Kwey? on the end??!?  Not sure.

Who cares!  Their music is great.

Here is today's song:  Half The Man, from the band's 1994 album "Return of the Space Cowboy"

This song is pretty clear, lyrically.  It's about a guy who's half a person.  Literally!

I'm LITERALLY half a person too.  My other half is literally a person too.  She's literally named Megan.  I literally love her.   I literally use the word literally in place of seriously and totally.  And I literally know what literally means even though lots of people don't.

Jay Kay (of Jamiroquai) isn't literally half a person.  But figuratively he is without his lady, just like me!  And guess what's super rad?  Me and my Megan celebrated 10 years of marriage this week.  Isn't this a great song that I can use on this post to tell you about our anniversary!  It literally is!

I hope I haven't annoyed you or bored you with this post or ever.

I love you.  Literally.

Hooked Up

The horn riffs on this track from Jamiroquai were running through my brain this lovely Sunday morning.

The song is called "Hooked Up" and it's from the funk band's 1993 album EMERGENCY ON PLANET EARTH.

I love the horns on this song.  The song itself is about an addiction to music.  I suppose I can relate.

But isn't it the greatest thing?  Does anybody HATE music?  Do we forget what a miracle it is that the physics of this world even allow us to make music?  And music that sounds good!
So.... on this, the day after Valentine's day, I guess I'm trying to say:
