Truce

4/21/2019

I really love "The Dresden Dolls" self-titled album-  It's obvious because I think this is now the 4th song from that album that I've now blogged about.

This is a pretty nasty break-up song.  I hope you like it.  Sorry I don't have more to say about it, just listen to all 8 minutes of the song.  Sorry not sorry.

Bui Doi

4/14/2019

There was a time in my life where I lived and died by what I considered good musicals.  My favorites were Les Miserables and Miss Saigon-  both world famous musicals by the same French composer and lyricist, Claude-Michel Schönberg and Alain Boublil.  I listened to Miss Saigon as a teenager so often that I exhausted my need to ever head it again.

Regardless, one of the catchy tunes from "M.S." is being blogged about at this very moment!

This is "Bui Doi" which is apparently a Vietnamese word for "Dust of Life" referring to the children in Vietnam born to a Vietnamese woman and an American Soldier, which more than likely has abandoned her.

Blah blah blah.  This show is sad.

Here's the song.

Lewis Takes Off His Shirt

4/7/19

Every so often you hear a song that sort of came out of nowhere and it just blows you away.  Such was the case when I first heard Owen Pallett's "Lewis Takes Off His Shirt"

This track combines so wonderfully electronic music with classical instruments.  The entire album of "Heartland" (self-produced by Pallett himself) is one you should check out if you're looking for new music.

Here's the song- enjoy.

Have a neat time y'alls

La Medicina

3/31/19

This is an unusual track, but it was stuck in my head, so here you go!

This is from Italian singer-songwriter Jovanotti.  I like the dude, quite a bit.  He's pretty versatile as far as his capability as a writer, but that does mean that sometimes he'll publish a song that's overproduced and a little out there.  Such is the case for "La Medicina" which can be found on his 2011 Deluxe Version of his album "Ora"

"La Medicina" means The Medicine.  This track switches frequently between Italian and English.  Definitely not the track I'd share from his collection, but that's not what this here blog is about yo.

Here's the song.

My blog is weird.
