Maybe about 10-12 years ago I kept hearing the name Neko Case come up as I talked about music with friends. At first I thought that she was the same person as Nico (the 1960's German model-turned-singer who had a handful of hits in that era) and that I had just never heard her last name. Not very often that you hear of a woman named Nico (Neko?).... in my world at least.
It didn't take me long to figure out that they were not the same person. And while an occasional Neko Case song would come up, I was actually more familiar with Nico's music. The only thing I knew about Ms Case was associated to her work with Canadian Supergroup (with a terrible name!) The New Pornographers. (They are great!)
So--- why am I talked about Neko Case you ask?!? WELL! I've been listening to her you guys! And one of her songs got stuck in my head.
This is from Case's latest album, 2018's "Hell-On" The song is called Bad Luck. I likey....
Wow, doing a little research, I just found out that Neko actually covered Nico in 2013! What the what!??!
I tried to upload pictures of Nico and Neko and it didn't work.
