All These Things That I've Done

I love today's song. 

It's from the Killer's debut 2004 album HOT FUSS.  This is the first song I ever heard by this great band and I was hooked immediately.

Many of you know that I'm a Mormon, and so is the Killers' lead singer, Brandon Flowers (or brother Flowers as I lovingly refer to him.)

I can't help but believe that this song is about Christ.  I could be way off, but listen to the lyrics. 

My favorite is the final line:

 Over and in. 
Last call for sin. 
While everything's lost,
the battle is won,
with all these things that I've done.


I'm not gonna apologize for my religious interpretation of this song.  I will always hear it this way.    I also love that Brandon Flowers can be a hard-core rock star and a Mormon.

Neon Tiger

I like that I have a blog.  I don't like blogging all the time.  I'm kind of dreading writing this post.  So if you're expecting something amazing today, you might be more disappointed than normal.

Today's song comes from The Killers.  I do like the killers.  I do I do I do.

This is from their third album, "Day and Age" the song is called Neon Tiger.

Fun Facts about this song!!!!!

#1-  The lyric "day and age" is in this song.  Listen for it!  They named the album after it you guys!

#2-  According to most online forums, this song is about the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas!  The neon represents the lights and excitement and enticement of the city while the tiger is the dangerous part of the city.  Watch out!

#3-  I like the way Brandon Flowers' voice sounds on this song-  I like his voice in general.  I like this song.  I like this album.  It's good.

Sam's Town

Come, let us rock to The Killers on a Friday morning at 6am. 

 

This is the kind of song that somebody might see me rocking out to in my car all alone.  When I rock out all by myself in the car, I look awesome.  I don't look pathetic, nerdy and too white in any way at all.   

Many of you know my wife is a very talented Opera singer.  Every once in a while, I think about the kind of rock/pop songs she could sing with her classical voice and it would sound really awesome.  I think this is one she could do and it would be really powerful.  I know she is thinking about trying this sort of thing for a recital, maybe we'll add this one to the list.  Or maybe I can convince her to try it, and we'll post the video on the blog.  What do you all think of that idea?
